Montauk AI, which now has more than $100 million in assets under mandate, is opening its Market Assessment to every home health, home care, and hospice owner in America through September 29.

One year ago Montauk AI quietly did something the firm believes no one in home-based care had done before: it sold a real company to a real public acquirer through a series of agents and a proprietary transaction platform. The firm now has more than $100 million in assets under mandate across home care, home health, and hospice, and every company it represents is published at montaukai.com/listings. The industry is still catching up to what that means. Now the firm is opening up a Market Assessment to 50,000 companies.

In July 2025, GrandCare Health Services, a five-star home health provider in Southern California, was acquired by The Pennant Group (NASDAQ: PNTG). Pennant announced the deal and named its placement agent in its own investor materials: Montauk AI.

The entire transaction happened over a transaction platform, with buyers getting data portals that served as the investment memo and agents answering financial and diligence questions. Price alignment happened over the software, and the deal closed well ahead of a traditional timeline.

The deal had huge implications for the industry. There are roughly 50,000 home-based care companies in the United States: 30,000 home care agencies, 11,000 certified home health agencies, and 7,000 hospice providers. It is a large market, and almost none of it ever reaches a buyer. A traditional sell-side process costs roughly two million dollars to run, so the path to a sale is too slow and too expensive to be worth taking for most owners, leaving the owners who built these companies sitting on the sideline.

Jarrett Bauer, who founded Health Recovery Solutions and Montauk AI, said GrandCare was the proof point of what an AI can do. “We are on a mission to cut transaction times by 70 percent,” Bauer said. “By opening up a Market Assessment, we are providing new levels of access.” Through September 29, 2026, every home health, home care, and hospice owner in America can use the company’s Market Assessment.

“We spent four years building software that used to take twenty people to do by hand, and we are encouraging operators to use our Market Assessment,” said Bauer. “A sector where owners cannot exit is a sector that stops attracting capital, and this industry deserves better and faster than that.”
